Pikes Peak Traveland, Inc. actually started life as Barts Camper Sales in 1968 selling slide in campers. Barts founder, Frank Bartlett decided to retire from the RV business and put the dealership up for sale.
Barts had a 6,000 sq ft building with the largest RV parts store in Southern Colorado. Bart carried Starcraft pop-up trailers, Road Ranger trailers and Mobile Traveler Class C motorhomes. The initial rolling stock inventory was one Mobile Traveler Class C, three Road Rangers trailers, three Starcrafts folding trailers and two used RVs.
In 1982 we, along with a friend, purchased Barts Camper sales. Barts was located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The theory behind the purchase was we could earn our living in an industry that was our favorite hobby. We have been camping since 1968 and RVing from 1970 to the present.
Today the Colorado Springs area has a population of 500,000 and is located about 65 miles south of Denver at the cross roads of I-25 and highway 24. Colorado Springs is a major tourist attraction in Colorado and we see customers from all over the world.
Pikes Peak Traveland, Inc. is situated on 3.2 Acres on the east side of Colorado Springs on highway 24.
In 1984 we changed our name to Pikes Peak Traveland, Inc. from Barts Camper Sales and in 1987 the Biles family purchased the entire dealership. At Pikes Peak Traveland marketing very high quality products with a great reputation is of major importance. We have received Fleetwood’s Circle of Excellence for customer satisfaction 15 times, every year it has existed. Our largest source of customers is referrals and repeat buyers.
Over the years Pikes Peak Traveland has grown from a single service bay operation to the 6 we have today and our building now has over 13,000 sq ft. Pikes Peak Traveland has an indoor wash bay to facilitate pre-delivery preparation and customer orientation.
Our large accessory store is a very important part of Pikes Peak Traveland and is extremely significant in the support of our customers
Pikes Peak Traveland carries the Jamboree, Icon, Terra, Flair, Bounder, Pace Arrow, Diesel Bounder, Discovery, Providence, and Revolution motorhomes by Fleetwood.
Wilderness and Gearbox SUT are the Fleetwood trailers along with Sundance 5th Wheels by Heartland and the Coast lightweight travel trailers by MVP make up the towable line up.
